♡Warm Welcoming♡

The most successful aren’t the same as everyone else. That’s why they stand out. Why stay in the shadow of everyone else, whilst you could have title, being yourself.

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

— Oscar Wilde.

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting started, however stay tuned for more content!

Here, I want to discuss confidence, being different, standing out, fashion, everything that’s on those lines. I notice a lot of people struggle with their styles and confidence, both go hand in hand perfectly. Personally, I’ve struggled too! However, with what I’ve learned through my journey, I’d like to share everything I learned.

Being different is hard. Standing out of a boring crowd where everyone is the same, is highly intimadating! Trust me, getting stares from stangers whilst your minding your own busniess can be scary, alongside giving you many insecurities. Though, you’ll most likely intimadate those that stare, after all, not everyone has the guts to be different. It’s an art that’s hard to master. Being different just isn’t a bad thing! It means your brave enough to be yourself…

You can only make a difference, by being different.

♡ Exploring Style ♡

Hello, I’m back with another blog!

Today, I’d like to explore style. What do I mean by this? What I mean, is simply to explore styles that you have intrest in! Grunge? Goth? Yume kawaii? Decora? And that’s only a small collection of those I, myself have explored!

How to explore styles?

  1. Pinterest. Pinterest is an app, or website, that I highly recommend looking at if you haven’t already.
  2. Trying it out personally. Sometimes the only real way to tell is to try each style out yourself, on yourself.
  3. Make one. If you seem to like many styles, but put together, make it your own! Just play about with the boundraies of each style.

♡Using Pinterest to Help♡

Using Pinterest to find and create your own style, is very easy. Search up styles that your intrested in, or even, just type up words or colours, and at the end of your search type “aesthetic”.

  • Pastel – “pastel aesthetic”
  • Vampire – “vampire aesthetic”
  • Grunge – “grunge aesthetic”
  • Japanese – “japanese aesthetic”

I’m sure you get the picture. Now, after this, create a board or two of styles that your really enjoy and would like to explore further. Save as many photos, outfits and quotes as needed for you to full understand the style.

Now, by saving them, you can view your style whenever you’d like. This comes in very handing whilst your shopping for clothing or accessories.

♡ Trying it Out ♡

This is the fun part! Where you get to try on and dress up in your favourite styles.

Try searching online first, this is your best bet for finding cheap alternative clothing. Stores in real life, in the UK, USA etc, are a lot harder to come by selling those themes. Japanese websites are your best bet, alongside American or British websites that have bought stuff in. Etsy, Wish, Aliexpress and Ebay, are also amazing websites for finding alternative accessories. Be prepared to wait a while for them to be delivered however…

Assuming you’ve got the accessories for a few styles now, try it out! Personally, I’d never jump in to a style starting with the dresses, clothing, expensive brands etc. I’d start with accessories, they’re cheaper and easier to come by.

If you’d like to jump into clothing though, maybe start in places like Primark, thrift stores or really cheap alternative stores. The reason I mention more “basic” stores, is simply to enable a creative element early on. I’ll go into depth about that in another post.

Places like those, are cheaper, a lot more common and bigger. In these stores, you can easily find clothing that you can alter, diy, or even better, use as it is!

Some pieces in these stores are perfect for certain styles. Pastel jumpers are perfect for yume kawaii styles, when pieced with pleated skirts or oversized with shorts and fishnets. Black ripped jeans can be perfect styled with a band tee, a mens gingham shirt and combat boots work nicely as a grunge outfit. Just make sure to use your imagination!

♡ Making One! ♡

This case, is one I personally found myself in. Loving two styles and not knowing which to choose.

I love yume kawaii, yami kawaii and grunge. Thankfully, for me, I had pastel goth, and yami kawaii styles that balanced the dark and cute elements perfectly. But let’s say you dont have a mashup style available. What do you do in this instance?

  • Start buying pieces that you like. Don’t think about if it’ll match your adorbable aesthetic when its dark green and black. If you like it, buy it. Worry about it matching later.
  • Piece both styles together. If it’s steampunk with pastels, maybe look for more silvery steampunk pieces, and throw in pastels in the accessories.
  • Keep Pinterest open. Keep a board with both styles in it, make it fully YOUR style, keep it public. Maybe other’s will show interest!

Rock your style with pride. Even if it’s not a listed style, it’s different. And we’re all- about being different.

I hope my blog helped anyone out there wanting to explore their style! Subscribe to hear more about style, fashion, confidence and being different!

Stay Sweet!
